Project Background
Had the pleasure working in a team of young and inspiring designers with various specialities on the core products of Paessler AG company.
Altho i have worked previously in industries with emphasis on heavy data handling this was an even more interesting and bigger challange in a different industry all together. The PRTG product offers its customers hands on direct overview and controll over their infrastructure hands on with the help of a centralized app.
Coordination tasks:
- Internal UI UX coordination meetings with the design team
- Design sprints across multiple teams
- PO and Development planning meetings
- Sprint planning and ongoing implementation updates
- OKR's periodical allingment
UX Tasks:
- Competitor research and analysis
- Analytics, NPS, CSAT data driven design
- Live user interviews and auditing
- Iterative user testing on user flows and designs
UI Tasks:
- User flows design
- User flows research and testing
- Sketching low fidelity mockups in design sprints (pen & paper)
- Static wireframe design
- Wireframing highly interractive app designs
- Coordinating with development team for implementation
Project UX process

Research
Based on the business goals we gathered research about competitors, analyzed and discovered possbile business opportunities for various markets where our product was applicable.

We performed a various ammount of data collection based on the objective ranging from User Live Testing, User Interviews, Design workshops, CSAT and NPS surveys and Analytics.

A quick, broken down, example on user discovery regarding the UI issues.
Simple user flows
Based on user data we collected via User Interviews and User Live Testing we iterated the simplest solutions for UI improvements.
As always we started hashing out and testing various user flows before moving forward with any concepts.

Indepth user flow as shown in the example a complex but easy to navigate Notification System.
Macro user flow.
Based on the business goals and the user data collected we where in a good spot to start drawing out first few concepts and test our hypothesis with the help of interactive wireframes. The concepts where either the result of a Design Sprint with the help from our colleagues in our company (to offer transparency and also educate the business on how the design functions) or if the task where medium to low difficulty a straight up hands on approach.

Various devices compatibility
Being a desktop based application as well as a browser application also, we performed compatibility tests as well to ensure nomather what the view screen of the user we could ensure best possible experience.

The application presented challanges such as the possibility to modify windows size in the app as well as readjusting the elements in real time seamlessly.

Basic inception of "Map designer" feature
In one of the more used and desired features we allowed the user to use a default page view, choose on of the templates from our database but also design his own Dashboard to better suit the users needs based on the environment and industry.

Ending notes
Highly complex project with emphasis on heavy data collection and research. It was all made seam alot easier thanks to a highly motivated and creative team with which i had the pleasure of working during my stay.
